Off tomorrow for a few days to France,on my own this time. The husband has to work!...At least, he won't be alone, I leave him with his double... almost :) See you next week and Happy Easter everybody.

BP Portrait Award 2011

I always enjoy to vist the National Gallery Portrait in London. Each year, a competition is taking place: the BP Portrait Award, promoting the very best in contemporary portrait painting. This year more than 2300 artist were hoping from all over the world... and here are the four finalists. The 14th of June, we will know the name of the genius winner. Then, from the 16th of June to the 18th of September 2011, the National Gallery Portrait is giving an exhibition with the 55 best portraits of the competition. The Admission is free.

I want to see that....

So, the bets are open, which one do you prefer? ...

Madrid.

I couldn't resist to show you more pictures... sorry :)... Ahh, c'est bon les escapades!

Madrid

We had a great time. Time to talk, to walk, to shop, to enjoy, to taste, to relax. Thank you M. :) The room was stunning, I absolutely love breakfast in hotels! The weather was perfect to get out flip flops and linen trousers. Summer in April.  And Madrid, Madrid... it's such a lively place... life there seems to start after the ritual nap in the afternoon with tables all long the streets, music everywhere, kids playing until late... a unique time scale! A great place to visit with easy transport links, gorgeous food, full of History and Art, gardens and squares everywhere.

A visit to the V&A Museum today, some new drawings and a little escape tomorrow to Madrid for a few days with her... :) :) See you next week. Adios amigos!

Yesterday was his birthday. We celebrated it together with an homemade toffee cream & chocolate cake ... absolutely yummy... (but you have to forget your diet to appreciate it :)  Have a nice week-end everybody.
