The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea London

Yesterday, we went to the Affordable Art Fair which was located in the gorgeous Battersea Park. Really really busy, a lot of push-chairs and babies around, glasses of wine and a lot of art works too! It's only galleries exhibiting there, we  enjoyed various style, photography and paintings mainly, some prints and sculptures as well. A few pieces reflected the contemporary art, but a lot were quite classical. We didn't buy anything, but for my part I always like to see real paintings and look at them closely to understand the different artist's works and techniques. I think B. likes to be surprised, this time he found some interesting landscapes. And to look at the paintings of Stephanie Rew  finished our visit in beauty...

Stephanie Rew

I wish I could paint like her... Here is the stunning work of Stephanie Rew. I find it amazing technically, soft and strong in on piece.

"Stephanie Rew was raised in the historic city of Edinburgh, ScotlandStephanie has always been heavily influences by the Baroque style of oil painting and utilises a combination of Old Masters techniques with her own. Her use of glazes is important to the finished article – creating an inner glow to he work. Caravaggio’s trademark use of chiaroscuro and strong colour created by glazing techniques has inspired her work for the last decade. "

Some of her new work will be on sale at the Affordable Art Fair, Battersea, London this week-end, and I won't miss that... just to have a look ;)

Sarah & Matteo

A few weeks ago, I asked Sarah and Matteo if I could draw their portrait to complete my portfolio. Their Engagement pictures are wonderful and were a real inspiration for me. I really enjoy to visit Sarah's blog, they are a beautiful couple, I like her pictures and her writing about the simplicity of life. So, after a "Yes" from them (I was so happy) here is the result! ta-daa!! So, what do you think...?
