Letterpress.

More than a year ago, after the sale of a painting, I finally decided to invest my little saving in an authentic Adana letterpress. For a while now,  I am absolutely facinated by the letterpress work, its geniosity and elegance. I also like the machine itself, the mecanic there and all the little tools coming with.

"My one" it's a treasure: heaven is the new house of its previous owner, so when the family sold the Adana, they were also selling all the little world around it... and I feel deeply grateful and in charge of it now.

I am learning. The system. The mistakes. The paper. The thickness. The stains. The surprise. The uniqueness.

The last picture is my first creation. I have ideas... coming soon. For now, it's there. Enjoy!

We are back from New York with colors from the sun, a lot of miles in the legs, too many pictures to sort out, special times shared with friends and the heart full of memories and good feelings...

New York.

We are going there tomorrow. B. is running the marathon on Sunday and I will be there to support him! It will be the first time for me in New York, I have already selected a couple of museum and art galleries I would like to see. But what I like to do the most when I visit a new place is to try to understand it and experience it by walking through the street, listening, tasting new foods and looking! I just can't wait to be there. I love travelling, I love the whole experience, I can't wait to be at the airport ready to go!

After the house. At home.

I still have the corridor and the landing to finish, so I think that it for the house renovation story. At least for now. It was great fun to go back and see the before pictures and play around to do the after ones, they are good memories of the last months. And thank you all for following me days after days through that project, I hope you enjoyed it... but of course it's not the end! it's never the end anyway when we are talking "houses" ;)

And today a little sneak peek on my desk... I will let you know soon, I'm getting ready :)

 

 

 

The sitting room: after

Tadaa...!

Here is our new room. My little challenge: a black wall 'to sit' my painting on ;). I like the contrast between the matt of the wall and the fireplace shining. It does give a dramatic look to the room and I love it. The big accent it's my favorite chandelier, an antique found on eBay... I know I'm quite lucky with eBay. The drinks cabinet, the side table and the fireplace are also second hand, with a bit of work on them done ...by yours truly of course ;)

And then a lot of soft and cosy fabric, velvety cushions and a funky sofa - I fell in love with the vibrant purple.

Still a problem: the ugly old grey TV...  could we do without it, please???
